Sometimes we don’t have to search for a concept. It’s just there, waiting for us to uncover it. This is exactly what happened with this hidden gem tucked away in the skirts of Vitosha mountain. French windows oriented towards the mountain, showcasing a range of green hues – green, green, green. We absorbed them, provided them with a foundation of light oak and silk wallpaper in ivory shades. The tool for balance was the implementation of grey textiles, reminiscent of beech bark, found in abundance amongst the surrounding trees. We added various green accents, gradually transitioning between the views from the windows. The Nero Marquina black stone serves as a light accent, introducing a touch of weight and tranquility. The combination of different wood finishes – from lighter to darker – brings comfort to the interior, built over time, without the sterility of repetitive showroom displays.

The real highlight of this project comes from the ceiling, which with its linear motions injects dynamics into an otherwise peaceful and balanced interior. The incorporated seven separate power circuits only for the open-plan living room guarantee the residents various lighting scenes fitting their different moods and emotions. From bright lighting for work to ambient scenes for relaxation and rest.

Every project has its difficulties, and this one was no exception. One of the challenges we faced was designing the library with a large set of predefined functions, including hiding a collector niche that still needed to be easily accessible, making it modular so that it could be rearranged if desired, incorporating a secret compartment, providing lighting, and, of course, ensuring that it blended seamlessly with the overall interior design. We leave it to you to judge whether we met all of the client’s criteria.

Our favorite part of this project is undoubtedly the main bathroom. The client’s brief was simple – “Masculine, yet sexy.” Combining LED lighting with black marble mounted on mirror-polished slabs and complemented with dark walnut is usually a recipe for success. However, when these decors are combined with the feeling of a warm rain falling down from a showerhead positioned high above, the emotional effect on the person using the space is difficult to describe. The word “Wow!” comes close, but falls short of fully capturing the experience.
